From weekend tutor to program coordinator, Amina shares what keeps her coming back every Saturday.
Every Saturday morning, Amina Rahman arrives at the learning centre an hour before it opens. She started as a weekend tutor three years ago and now coordinates the entire literacy program.
"The first child who read a full sentence to me is why I stay," she says. "You see confidence grow week by week."
Amina recruits and trains new tutors, matches children with reading partners, and keeps the centre's small library organised. If you have a few hours a month, her advice is simple: just start.
